As a Staff Software Engineer at Close, I spent the bulk of my time as a product engineer on the Messaging & Scheduling team, delivering features from spec to implementation that support the over 2 million monthly emails and SMS sent in the platform. Major features included SMS threading, automatic lead discovery, a page to view all historical phone conversations, and the ability to schedule meetings natively in Close. I also created Close's first in-product AI features - Lead Summaries, Email Thread Summaries, and email Draft Assist. I worked with Timelines.AI to create a WhatsApp integration. Beyond feature delivery, I led cross-cutting frontend infrastructure work including migrations to TypeScript and React from Backbone and AI agent tooling standardization. Team health always comes first for me, so I helped author the team's working agreements and facilitated retrospectives along the way.
